We take our users' concerns seriously, and lately the largest concern was the recent low activity on Nucleo. We asked some of our largest market makers on the platform what would help them place and monitor their orders more effectively. We received some suggestions for improvement:
1) A quick way to enter multiple orders simultaneously rather than one-at-a-time.
2) An automated way to duplicate their complex pricing formulas often stored in spreadsheets so they don't need to constantly copy their pricing information into the order form.
3) A quicker way to cancel Nucleo orders in response to a change in market conditions. Specifically if the price goes up, a quick way to cancel all sells and conversely with lower prices and buys.
In response, Bullion Direct is pleased to announce the deployment of our new Trading Template System which is exclusively available to our market makers. This system allows a market maker to store pricing formula information for any number orders. Now a market maker need only invest the time to create an order template once instead of replicating and re-entering the same order information multiple times (one-at-a-time) every time the market moves.
Our normal order placement process takes 3-4 pages and 3-5 required inputs per order. Now with this template system, the same work can be done in only 4 pages per batch of orders with only 2 optional inputs (option to change quantity and/or price) per order - A tremendous improvement.
The Pending Orders page has also been changed so that orders for a specific product category (such as silver for example) can be further broken down into lists of Buys or Sells only. This feature is available to everyone.
Once our market makers familiarize themselves with this new feature, we expect Nucleo activity to pick up again. Now that market makers have greater control and ability to monitor their positions, most products should receive the benefit of more active and competitive pricing. Consequently, fantastic deals from traders asleep at the mouse (as they say around here) may become more rare but that's the tradeoff for a better market.
These and other trading improvements have been on the giant TODO list for a while, hopefully soon we can provide some more.
